5 Underrated Social Media Strategy Tips for Marketers

Meta Description: Want to improve your social media accounts? Read this social media strategy checklist to know more.

It is much harder for businesses to take off without a comprehensive social media strategy in the current digital marketing landscape.

While you can still get engagements and views with every post, there might come a time when you will auto-pilot your posting and gain little to nothing from it. Strategies can make or break a campaign, so with the help of a social media strategy checklist, you'll find yourself more grounded and perform more effectively.

Check out these five underrated tips that will help improve your social media performance through audience retention and increased brand reputation.

1. Research what's currently trending

Trends are your gateway to getting more audiences, that is, if you have used the information effectively. These days, it's not that hard to know what's trending. For instance, Twitter has hashtags that can be easily viewed on its front page. Facebook has indicators on its integrated search function, allowing you to see what search terms are currently popular. TikTok makes it much easier with its user-friendly Discover tab.

That said, you can quickly formulate a strategy or use a template to capitalize on what most users are talking about.

It is essential to note that trends might not translate from one platform to another. Meaning that you should exercise caution when transferring or recycling content.

2. Track what your audience is saying about your brand through social listening

The second entry in our checklist is social listening, which is an overlooked approach, considering how effective it can be.

With social listening, you can track the online mood and sentiment of all the engagements from all your social media accounts, from mentions, comments, and conversations relating to your brand or business.

A social media marketing campaign with this strategy can achieve promising results. Aside from garnering data about audience impressions, it also comes with the ability to understand the competition and an opening for potential brand and individual collaborations.

3. Align content strategy with business objectives

How's this social media marketing checklist so far? Do you think we're nailing some that you haven't known yet? We have more on the way so keep on reading!

Social media content creation requires a different approach when compared to websites. For instance, you're very limited regarding what you can post, and depending on the platform, you also have to consider making some adjustments. That said, crafting a content strategy aligned with your business goals should be a top priority.

For businesses that want to focus on sales, producing content that would show off a product or service in a positive light is suggested. However, since you want to keep people from scrolling or clicking away from your content, you should practice caution and avoid sounding too forceful.

Support content is also proven and effective. Understanding your audiences' problems and developing an early resolution is critical for more engagements. This approach increases your brand's reputation since people would know that you care about them.

4. Learn from mistakes and past performances

Instead of dwelling on the mistakes that you have made and regretting them, it is always better to embrace them and have them be part of your marketing journey. Don't be hard on yourself; focus on improving and using these shortcomings to improve your presence and brand.

For instance, you might have overlooked your audience. It is common for some marketers to be confident about knowing their audiences, only to discover that they change from time to time. Sometimes it's not that hard to rely on analytics tools to have more accurate and usable information.

Aside from dealing with your mistakes, there's also the idea of looking through your past performances. It's more on the statistical side, but numbers don't lie, and with enough effort, you can interpret past data to aid you in the future of your campaign.

5. Post frequency optimization

Our last social media checklist entry is all about post frequency.

Daily social media posts seem to be the most optimal since you're not posting at an annoying rate. People would also develop a habit of expecting when your content will be dropping.

Understanding how much you will post on different social media platforms is the most challenging part of a campaign. It is a never-ending cycle of optimization and untimed adjustments. However, that doesn't mean it is impossible to find the sweet spot for posting; it just takes a lot of time to figure it out.

Many factors contribute to this, and perhaps one of the most obvious ones is audience response. You can measure your audience's interest and tolerance through engagement changes to your post.

Most platforms these days offer insights and even allow you to see your audience demographics. An example of information you might want to take advantage of is the country or region. Knowing where most of your audience is located, you can easily adjust your frequency depending on their time zone.

Conclusion

By following all these tips and adding them to your checklist, you'll have an easier time managing all your business social media accounts. Here are the key takeaways to summarize all the essential points that are made in the article:

Researching is the key to more organic engagements and introducing new audiences to your platforms.

It is normal for anyone to make mistakes, so don't let them hold you down. You can use all the data and experience you can get from a mistake to improve your campaign.

Optimizing your post frequency opens up many possibilities. One example is the ability to produce long-term audiences, as they will expect your content out of habit.

Franchising for Beginners: The Important Benefits You Need to Know

McDonald's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell all have one thing in common, and no, it's not that they're all fast-food chains. Instead, they are all franchising businesses that have been in the market for decades.

With its straightforward and welcoming approach, franchising is a popular business model for young entrepreneurs or those that are not yet ready to open their businesses.

According to Franchise-Law, studies found that a new franchise opens in the United States every 8 minutes. It only shows how accessible franchising is, that anyone, as long as they're interested and has enough funding, can make it happen.

From location hunting to brand-building, you have to consider many things when planning for a business. Franchising allows you to skip through all these processes with a fee you must pay the franchisor.

The initial fee might be a little hefty, but it's a gateway to more perks other than being able to run a business under someone's brand. It allows you access to all the franchisor's products, equipment, facilities, and trademarks without legal trouble. Aside from that, you can also expect continuous support in running a franchise and employee training.

In this article, we will go deeper and discuss the intricacies of franchising, along with some vital information to help you get started.

The Important Benefits of Franchising

Franchising's appeal stems from its ability to become successful without requiring too much experience from a business standpoint. Entrepreneurs can take their time and grow when managing a franchise without limiting their ability to access more business opportunities.

Established Branding and Recognizable Name

Compared to starting a business, franchising takes you into a shortcut, skipping many steps and dropping you close to the finish line. Many small businesses struggle to take off because of poor brand recognition and reputation. While something can be done to improve it, it's a lifetime commitment, and it would take a lot of time to justify its worth.

Franchising allows you to use a brand name that is already established. Anyone who passes by a McDonald's branch would know what's on the menu instantly. The same goes for anyone that enters a new Pizza Hut location for the first time. These businesses have dedicated decades to establishing their brand, making them recognizable in just a few seconds.

With the brand and reputation boost, you can easily attract customers without too much effort. The name itself would be enough advertisement, after all.

Outsourced Financing

Franchising carries minimal business risk, but it is still not a recommended move if you're planning to invest all of your assets in one go. A business will always be a business, and there's still a chance it could fail. That's why outsourced financing is here to take care of your worries.

Banks and known financing institutions offer loans for people interested in franchising. You may find some franchisors that would provide financing solutions as well. That said, there's less pressure involved, and you can focus on other ventures to grow your assets while franchising functions as a passive income.

Franchisor Support

Almost all franchisors in the market offer franchising support to their partners. It is an excellent thing for those without prior experience in business management, as you can get ready in no time with the help of professionals working hard to ensure that your business won't fail. Here are some approaches that franchisors opt for when it comes to helping their new partners:

  • Finding the best location for your business

  • Various training for owners, managers, and staffers

  • Instructional materials showing how everything is processed, like cooking and making certain items for a menu

  • Delivering management advice from time to time

  • Facilitate workshops and expos to encourage improvement and growth

These are only some of the ways franchisors could help. Depending on the industry and the scale of the brand, it could even go better and beyond.

Takeaway

Franchising will always be the better option for people who want to get involved in business but lack experience. Many franchise owners have proven that the business model and framework are effective as long as enough effort and attention are given. Despite having so many benefits, franchising still requires steady funding to function. It can be a money sink when not managed properly, and it has made many people face bankruptcy because they don't know what they are doing. That said, practice caution and always do enough research before involving yourself in a business venture.

Stadia’s End: Google is Shutting Down its Cloud Gaming Service Next Year

Google just announced on their blog post that they are ending the service of their cloud gaming platform, Stadia, on January 18, 2023.

They’re starting an initiative to refund Stadia hardware, as long as they came from the Google Store. Not only that, but Google is doubling down on its commitment by including all the games and downloadable content purchased from the said store.

The tech giant aims to complete all the issued refunds simultaneously; the service will completely shut down.

Stadia owners can still use their hardware and access their entire library at the moment. Pro subscribers are also still entitled to the Pro games that the platform is offering; however, Google is warning its player base that it is possible for games to disappear early. It depends on how their publishers handle the distribution throughout the shutdown process.

Google has been secretive about this move since even developers on the Stadia platform have been shocked by the news. Bungie, the minds behind Destiny 2, reacted by tweeting that their team is looking for a plan of action just moments after the announcement.

Ubisoft also followed up after a day with their statement, saying that they will be allowing Stadia players to transfer their games to PC with the help of their platform, Ubisoft Connect.

Olde Skuul, the developer behind Luxor Evolved, has been reportedly contacted by Google for reimbursement discussions. They are being affected by the sudden platform change, so Google wants to refund the revenue that they have lost.

Stadia’s vice president, Phil Harrison, explained that Stadia shutting down is related to not getting the specific target audience they have in mind.

Although Stadia has been built around good technology and infrastructure that they have been working on for years, there’s not a lot of user base to justify its continued existence.

Google employees working on Stadia are reportedly being transferred to other projects of the tech giant. Harrison also noted that the platform won’t be a total waste since the cloud infrastructure and concept can still be applied to other Google products.
